00:00:06 Rolf and I are absolutely delighted to introduce this year’s set of annual accounts.
00:00:12 2009 was a very challenging year because of the financial crisis and the economic environment, but it was also great fun because of our achievements.
00:00:40 Client centricity means really understanding the needs of our clients, and then bringing the right resources, all the specialists we have, together in order to meet these needs. One of our priorities last year was to build KPMG Europe LLP. With 14 countries, 31,000 people and generating more than €4.5 billion revenues.
00:01:11 It’s not just about numbers for size sake, it’s the ability to use the size and the number of people we have, to help our clients. So we’ve been better at specialisation, we’ve been faster in the market by type of issue and we really feel now, for the first time, that we are bringing the benefits of size and capability to bear, client-by-client for their benefit.
00:01:37 Our mission as auditors is to provide confidence to the capital markets, and this requires an uncompromised commitment to quality. This is not only our DNA of audit, this is the DNA of our firm across all of our services.
00:01:56 We’ve got a very healthy business, and we are able to focus even more on the performance of the business, and this means growth.
00:02:12 I feel enormously proud of what we’ve achieved this year, we’ve proved ourselves able to adapt to the biggest change that’s hit the financial community really without missing a heartbeat, and now we’re incredibly well positioned for growth as we move forward.
