Corporate Social Responsibility — integral to our Values and defining the way we go about our business. Being the ‘best firm to work with’ means mobilising our business skills in innovative ways for the mutual benefit of our communities, our clients and our people. Our CSR programme seeks to ensure that we remain the best choice for our people, clients, suppliers and communities; that we work closely with our clients and suppliers to reduce the impact which our collective businesses have on the environment; that we inspire innovative new thinking on responsible business practice; and that we support our communities by proactively seeking out pro bono opportunities where we can contribute our own skills.
INVESTMENT AND STAFF VOLUNTEERS
Our investment in our communities (€20m) and number of people volunteering (9,969) have seen a real increase in 2011 despite the global downturn and increased pressure placed on all our people.

Progress this year
Over €20 million has been invested in our communities and almost 10,000 of our people have contributed some 77,000 hours to voluntary initiatives. The success of BRIGHT has shown how we can use volunteering in a more sophisticated way to achieve positive outcomes for our communities and our people; and to build increasingly valuable relationships with our clients.
Priorities
We remain committed to operating an ethical business that engages with, and earns the trust of, our clients, our people and our communities. Our priorities continue to be focused on ensuring our business is sustainable over the long term through managing our economic, social and environmental impacts in an integrated, business-focused way.
